The Getting Ready Starts

Lots of Luggage Space

Today I got new rubber – aka tires – put on my bike. The rear tire was pretty badly worn and seemed to slip around a bit more than I liked. Now my bike will grab those corners much better. He also set up my brakes so I can stop on a dime and give change.

Yesterday I visited Royal Distributing in Guelph. What an awesome store- chuck full of boy’s toys. No ladies not that kind of boy-toys. This store has motorcycle, ATV, and boat gear. I bought a new full face helmet and some luggage.  Now I need to figure out what to take.

Anyone out there with motorcycle trip advice please feel free to send it along.

You need to take something with you like a doll or action figure or something and take it’s picture everyplace you go along the trip… like a little mascot

From the luggage picture, it looks like you could be gone for month!! Pack jeans, shorts, T-shirts and very little “dress-up” stuff. (Kathy says don’t forget clean underwear but that is your personal choice) Roll everything as tight as possible and then head out with an occasional laundry stop. HAVE FUN!!
PS what direction are you headed? Where are you going? Do you know that yet??

If you decide to do a somewhat “major” route overhaul whilst half way down into Kentucky, keep heading south toward Knoxville, Tenn. A state route takes you over to Pigeon Forge, Gattlinburg and into Cades Cove – a real pretty, nearly enclosed area in the heart of the Smokies. Blue Ridge Parkway is also spectacular on a bike. However, you do want to get home at some time so this is maybe another trip!

    Hi Bob:
That’s an amazing looking piece of equipment. Do you sleep in the top part or the bottom?!! You are definitely going through some beautiful country. Did some camping in the Blue Ridge and Smokey Mountains while in College. Have a great trip – one day at a time! Blessings & cheers. Bill McAlpine
